| 6/1/2009 | Occoneechee Council Unit Media Guide 2009The purpose of this guide is to assist each Unit Marketing Representative to get Scouting out to the community through successful authorship and placement of articles in local community newspapers. These are events that are scheduled to happen soon or have recently passed. Any community service project fundraiser or community event no matter how small should be recognized as a Unit or an individual. Any event where prospective Scouts can attend should be included in advance of the event. All Eagle Scouts should get their projects and Courts of Honor published so everyone can share in this great accomplishment. The purpose of this guide is to assist units. The Boy Scouts of America is active and relevant. However, we need your help in getting that word out. Scouting articles and photos printed in your local community newspaper can carry a strong, positive message about the presence and vitality of the Boy Scouts of America in your community. |

| Mar 19, 2008 | Cub Scout Day Camp Planning SessionDirector: Cub Master Pack 779 Date – March 20, 2008 As with everything, it takes us all to make it successful. Scoutmasters you have a very vested interest in offering your time and experience as well. If the cub scouts do not stay interested in the program, your troop’s growth becomes very limited. You may not be able to provide time to staff it, but you may hear of something they need that you could help provide. Wayne is working hard already to make this the biggest one yet, and I believe if we get behind him with our support it easily can be the best. If you are interested in helping, but can’t attend please contact Wayne for more information. |

Camp Director:
We would like for each of you to get with your Pack as well as your Troop and if you have a Venturing group and start recruiting volunteers. The date is tentatively set for the week of June 23. Please get a list of volunteers together and bring their names to the next Round Table (March 20th, 2008)so that we can started getting details together. We will then have a meeting in the next few weeks with key people to get the details set for the camp. Please check back here for the latest news. Some key positions that we will need to fill are below.
Please inform potential volunteers that this is a full week commitment. If they cannot do it the whole week, that's ok but, please get what days they can help. We want to have a Day Camp full of fun, learning and excitement. |
