Cape Fear District - Winter Camp-O-Ree
9th ANNUAL CAPE FEAR DISTRICT WINTER KLONDIKE
Welcome
We at Cape Fear District are hosting the ninth annual Cape Fear Winter Klondike to be held at Whites Pond outside Lillington (see map attached). This will be a three-day event for the Boy Scouts on February 15th, 16th and 17th. Upon arrival, please stop at the registration tent before entering the camping area to register your troop. The registration fee for the weekend is $6.00. The fees will be collected up later on that evening at the cracker barrel. Upon departure, please have your campsite inspected by a staff member before you depart, you will then receive your participation ribbon and patches. Saturday night there will be a flag retirement ceremony, each Troop is asked to come up with their own ceremony, flags will be provided by Troop 61.
A first place ribbon, second place, and a third place ribbon will be presented to the top performing patrols for each event. Also a first place ribbon will also be awarded for the sled race, most unusual camp gadget, and the cleanest and safest campsite.

Event List
- The sky’s the limit (patrol flag is required with 3 staves about 5-6 foot long)

- What the Heck is that, this is a cooking contest to be held Saturday evening. Each patrol is to supply enough food to feed their patrol and for the judges to sample. Remember, the cooking is to be done by the youths only, also the cooking will be primitive (Dutch ovens or open fires). Adults, there will be a cooking contest involving you also.

Remember the Scout Motto BE PREPARED, so think about the basics you will need and let have a fun filled and safe weekend.
Please note: Here are the Klondike Sled Plans. We are trying to get everybody on the same plans for the sled race. Please do not modify these plans or bring a sled that is different from these plans.
